About Us
We focus on providing information, training, education, and support to the entire Sammamish High School community. PTSA at the high school level is service based, including providing grants to teachers/staff, parent and student education, and building a supportive community for families.
In order for our PTSA to be successful we need the same support from you that you have provided to PTSA throughout the years. The best ways that you can support the mission of our PTSA at Sammamish High School are:
Become a PTSA Member: You can join right here!
Talk to us: If you have concerns or issues, it is our job to listen and provide support if we can. If we don’t have an answer, we will use our resources to do what we can to find one. Send us an email at president@sammamishptsa.org, or connect with us via our Facebook page: Sammamish High School Community | Facebook
Be involved in your child’s education: Statistics show that when parents are involved in their kids’ high school education, the kids benefit, and we know that there is no better support for a child than family involvement!
The following are some of the services and programs our PTSA provides at Sammamish High School:
Staff Appreciation
Sammamish “Hawk Squawk” Newsletter (co-sponsored with SHS Boosters)
“Class of” committees
SAT / ACT Prep classes
Curricular Grants
Parent Educational Programs
Reflections, National PTA arts program
Principal Coffees
Family Engagement
Advocacy for Washington PTA
Supply drives for school support offices, including the FCC, the nurse’s office, and MHAT.
Sammamish High School PTSA has 4 “Class of” committees; senior (2024), junior (2025), sophomore (2026), and freshmen (2027). The goal of each “Class of” committee is to raise funds specifically for their respective graduation events and to bring our community of parents together. Fundraisers we do are created and setup to distribute money only to their respective “Class of” accounts. Money raised each year leading up to graduation helps reduce ticket prices for Grad Night later, so each class has a fundraising goal to reach $35,000 by their senior year!

PTSA Membership Myths and Facts
Myth:
If I join PTSA then I will have to volunteer and go to meetings.
Fact(s):
We can’t tell you how many times we have had people say to us, “I wanted to join PTSA but I’m just too busy. Joining PTSA does not come with any “strings” attached. As a PTSA member, you are entitled to a voice and vote at our meetings, and although we would love to have every member attend every meeting, we know this would be a completely unrealistic expectation (and the library wouldn’t hold us all anyway!).
By reading this page, you have already shown that you care about and are contributing to our community, and we thank you!!
